Social Proof – Why Its So Darn Important!
Do you really trust anybody on the internet these days? Neither do I. However, if they have a testimonials page with dozens of videos, and written letter of real people with websites I can click to, and see that the person exists, it goes a very long way in building a trusting relationship. Thanks to all the scammer and spammers in the last fifteen years, the internet was almost destroyed for being a source of creditable information, and products. Thank god people stood up and started showing that not everybody was a flim-flam artist looking to make a quick buck. This is why it is important to make good friends and build relationships with people in your social networks, and customers who you do business with.
When presenting a new website, or product it is always difficult to get people to buy from you, unless they already know you. Or should I say, know of you. It can be a bit time consuming but I promise you it will totally pay off in the long run. When you have put together a good product, and people give you a nice praise, ask if you can place it on the product sales page, 99% of the time they will say yes. Because you will also offer to put a link to their product up as well. Its is good exposure for everyone. You wash my back and I’ll wash yours. It is an old concept in business, and a wise one. After a few weeks when hopefully dozens of people have bought, and you have put up all their testimonials, what do you think is going to happened to your sales when somebody new lands on your page and see 13 people who says it is the greatest thing since sliced bread?
That’s right you are almost guaranteed a sales, because you have gained trust without actually talking to the person. Basically, you will start you make money on complete auto pilot and improve conversions over time. They will continue to rise every time someone sees all the good thumbs up from other buyers. It is very wise to create a whole testimonials page on your website, sales page, blog, whatever. The more trustworthy you are the more money you will make. The other rings true as well, if people tell you there is something wrong with the product, do not get hurt or mad, learn from it, and fix it.
